Avoiding A Tire Blowout

One minute you are driving along and the next minute your tire has blown out and you are struggling to regain control of your vehicle. You can do this safely by making sure you take hold of the steering wheel and gently press down the brakes to slow yourself down. You can also follow a couple of simple tips to make sure this blowout doesn't happen again in the first place:

  • Make sure that the treads on your tires are not wearing down too low. If you know you are in need of tires don't put this job off for too long.
  • Don't expect your vehicle to carry along too much weight.
  • It can be difficult this time of year but avoid potholes as best as you can to avoid damage to your tires.
  • Make sure you have enough air in your tires. Not enough air can be dangerous.
