Adventure Ready: The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The Nissan Pathfinder is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 284 horsepower and cranks it up to 295 horsepower in the Rock Creek trim. The torque weighs in at 259 pound-feet at 2400 rpm. All trims come standard with front-wheel drive except the Rock Creek trim, which comes standard with all-wheel drive. Upgrading to all-wheel drive in all trims adds seven drive modes, greatly enhancing the off-road driving experience.

The Pathfinder offers a smooth ride and with its sound-deadening elements, provides a very quiet ride as well. The smooth, quiet ride is especially helpful for those longer highway trips.

Towing Capacity

The Pathfinder SV and SL trims come with a standard 3500 pounds of towing capacity with an option Premium Package that allows for up to 6,000 pounds of towing capacity. The Rock Creek and Platinum trims come with 6,000 pounds of towing capacity standard.

Fuel Economy

The base SV trim has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg combined. Higher trims come in with slightly less miles per gallon. For example, the Rock Creek trim comes in at 20 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Pathfinder sports a modern interior with controls that are easy to reach and use. The three-row seating design can accommodate up to 8 passengers with very comfortable seats and ample head and legroom in all rows. Buyers can opt for two second-row captain’s chairs, bringing the seating capacity down to seven.

Cargo space behind the third row is 16.6 cubic feet. With the rear seats folded this expands to 45 cubic feet, and with both the second and third-row seats down, storage capacity tops out at 80.5 cubic feet.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Pathfinder comes standard with a 7.0-inch instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch Nissan Connect infotainment touchscreen. A 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen is available in the SL and Platinum trims. Sirius XM is standard and all trims are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. A Wi-Fi hotspot is also standard. A six-speaker audio system comes standard with a 13-speaker Bose Premium Sound System available in the SL trim and standard in the Platinum trim.
